CTSCameraViewer

Webcams are good substitutes for standard cameras. They do not offer greater quality, but the pictures or recordings you make can be saved directly on your hard drive. With CTSCameraViewer, you can view your own webcam and use it to take snapshots or record yourself. When you are done, you can use its options to upload the video to YouTube or Facebook.

The application is free and its features are not limited in any way. Due to the small size of the setup file, you can download it swiftly, even if your Internet connection is slow. As far as system requirements go, you will only need to have a Windows operating system installed and, of course, a webcam.

A webcam can be viewed on the main area of the interface. It can be paused or stopped at anytime with the playback options beneath the preview. If you have more than one webcam, you can switch between them by clicking a button in the lower left corner of the window and choosing your device from a drop menu. Webcams will be detected automatically, so you only need to select one. There is no need to navigate through wizards or complex options to associate it with the application. You can even use a third party software which simulates a web cam and it will be detected as well.

You can start recording immediately by clicking the Record button, beneath the playback options. This will bring up a small window, where you can specify an output path and a format (WMV8_ASF, or WMV9_AVI ). When you are finished with the recording, you can click one of the buttons in the lower right corner of the window. One of them will take you to the Facebook log in screen and the other will upload the recording to YouTube. After submitting your username and password in a separate window, the application will start uploading your recording.
